How To Meet Jesus In The Word

  1. “He hath not beheld iniquity in Jacob, neither hath he seen perverseness in Israel: the LORD his God is with him, and the shout of a king is among them.” — Numbers 23:21 (KJV)
  2. Because burn offerings was going up covering all Israel, ensoothing the sweet fragrance smellling aroma.
  3. We are all unto God, sweet fragrance of Christ. The fragrance cover all nasty smells of jealousy, resentments etc
  4. Like Isaac clothed by animal skin with sweet fragrance that cause Jacob to bless him, we are clothed with Jesus, sweet smelling aroma to God that cause Him to bless us
  5. Lowest task : gleaning. Lev 23:22 22 ‘When you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not wholly reap the corners of your field when you reap, nor shall you gather any gleaning from your harvest. You shall leave them for the poor and for the stranger: I am the Lord your God.’ 
  6. 26 Jesus answered them and said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, you seek Me, not because you saw the signs, but because you ate of the loaves and were filled. 27 Do not labor for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to everlasting life, which the Son of Man will give you, because God the Father has set His seal on Him.” John 6:26-27
    When you open the Bible, you are laboring but He is giving
  7. Isaiah 55:12 “For you shall go out with joy, And be led out with peace; The mountains and the hills Shall break forth into singing before you, And all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.
  8. The result of spending time in the Word is Isaiah 55:12
  9. The different level of learning the Word of God
    • gleaning what others are harvesting
    • reaper/harvester – pastors, teachers, evangelists
  10. Boaz :in Him is strength
  11. You wont meet techniques or formula, but person. You will meet at the point of your needs
  12. Bible is multilayer. Bible is rich field.
  13. Ruth 2:1-20  “Please let me go to the field, and glean heads of grain after him in whose sight I may find favor.” Ruth is gleaning after him whose sight I may find favor. She is going to the filed to meet the person to find favor with. When you open bible, confess that you will meet Jesus in the book
  14. Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come—
    In the volume of the book it is written of Me—
    To do Your will, O God.’ Heb 10:7
  15. Psalm 40:7-8 7 Then I said, “Behold, I come; In the scroll of the book it is written of me. 8 I delight to do Your will, O my God, And Your law is within my heart.”
  16. Emmaus Road : expounding things concerning Himself
  17. Ruth has special connection with Boaz but she did not pull strings. To “pull strings” means to secretly use your personal power, influence, or important friends to get a favor or an unfair advantage.
  18. You get very little gleaning if you dont go to church. In church , pastors, preachers are harvesting the word and you can glean and to feed the word and to pick up nuggets of truth.
  19. Ruth 2:3 “Then she left, and went and gleaned in the field after the reapers. And she happened to come to the part of the field belonging to Boaz, who was of the family of Elimelech”
  20. Once you confess favor, your future are happenings. God’s way is believe first and you will see.
  21. We are fallen and perverted, we want to see first and then we speak. When a machine breakdown, we go to manufacture handbook to find how we are made. Likewise, we are fallen, we need to go to Bible to see how we are made and redeemed.
  22. When we spend time in the Word, God will cause your haps to happen and your days become full, your sleep will be sweet. God prepare your right happenings. We’ll be able to do lots of things in short time. God will bring things we need to attend to and you will accomplish much more.
  23. Spending time in the word and pray is not a waste time, but they will bring you to right place and right time, the haps.
  24. When I neglect God’s words, I find my days is not so well
  25. Martin Luther : I am so busy, I cant afford not to pray.
  26. Ministry which is full of Holy Spirit will never call attention to the Spirit, but to Jesus Christ.
  27. Holy Spirit empowers us by His Gifts and characters by the Fruit
  28. When you attend church or cell group, whatever you get, you are gleaning what is drop even though you dont understand fully.
  29. Just reap the word – sounds right but it is not. God gives gifts and teachers. God’s word is organic raw foods.
  30. Divinely orchestrating : Bible
  31. Our inner man is not cheap, and can not be satisfied with anything less than Jesus. The only bread, the field that feeds. We are made for eternity.
  32. Stage 1 Gleaner who trust in God’s favor, then he found the reapers who know the fields and then he meet the Master.
  33. Reapers : transfer wheat into bread.
  34. Spend time with Jesus, beholding Jesus and your fear melts away
  35. Reapers gather for the Master.
  36. Jesus always tells the good things you have done.
  37. God gives you grace to do what He wants you to do and then He rewards you for using the grace He first gave you.
  38. He tells you to love Him and He gives you the love to love Him and then He blessed you for loving Him with His love.
  39. The LORD repay your work, and a full reward be given you by the LORD God of Israel, under whose wings you have come for refuge.” Ruth 2:12
  40. Spoken kindly – Ruth 2 : 13
  41. If you preach God’s word about something, anointed preaching. God can use it to many hearts that is not related to the topic.
  42. Feed your way into His goodness and abundance. Feed His goodness.
  43. Now Boaz said to her at mealtime, “Come here, and eat of the bread, and dip your piece of bread in the vinegar.” So she sat beside the reapers, and he passed parched grain to her; and she ate and was satisfied, and kept some back. Ruth 1:14
  44. Parched grain : deep truth
  45. But when he came to himself, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger! Luke 15:17
