Jesus, the Servant King – My Bible Study Journal

When two or three gather in Jesus’ name, He himself in the midst. Jesus is here to meet your needs. He loves to be a servant.
After 10 commandments in Exodus 20, immediately Exodus 21 talked about a Hebrew servant. The servant can choose to not go out free and remained as a bond servant. It is the imagery of Jesus. He came as a servant. The Son of Man did not come to be served but serve. If Jesus found someone in need, all goodness and grace flow out from him.
We serve because we have been served.
Jesus now is glorified, but John saw “the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle.” It is the posture of a servant. Even in Heaven, He still serves us.
John 13:8 Peter said to Him, “You shall never wash my feet!”
Jesus answered him, “If I do not wash you, you have no part with Me.”
Peter was in Jesus, but if he did not allow Jesus to serve him, he can not flow with Jesus.
Martha was busy but Mary sat at Jesus feet. Martha forgot Jesus multiplied 2 fishes and 5 loaves to feed 5K. God is not against you serving but Jesus rebuked Martha , not the service but heart of troubles of many things.
If you are troubled, stress out, worry inside, it is because you have not being served. Sit at His feet, let Him serve you
Above all things we have to do daily, demands on, do we really believe that one thing that is needful
Walk like prince and princess, you need to sit down. Christian life begins with what has been done.
Involve : free choice / will
One thing is needful, Mary chose the good part which will be never taken away from her
Religious Laws : you have to serve God. Grace: let God serve you. We serve God because we have been served. You give because you know you are rich. We are rich because of the Cross. As like it so bountifully.
You don’t have but you get to tithe. “Have to” means it’s something you are forced to do or need to do for a purpose or reason, as in, “I have to go to work”. “Get to” is something you are able to do or excited about doing, as in, “I get to go to the beach with my friend!”
Familiarity with a passage can hold you back from revelation God wants you to have
Take no anxious thought : isnt life more than food , and body more than clothing
Jesus referred to quality life and quality body. Jesus gave the secret to quality life and quality body. Only one thing not to do : to let go, take not anxious thought. Worrying can not make you live longer, but shorten your life.
When you pray, God start supplying – wrong imagery. Truth : God continues to supply. Q: why don’t I see it in my life? A: because being blocked by worry and anxiety. Let it go and supply will flow
Vision of golden pipe in Zech 4.
Let go and see God feed you better than He feeds the birds in the air. Supply always flows since Jesus cried it is finished. Check the nod in your life and learn how to cast the cares in that area to the Lord.
The devil will put the focus on you, the Lord want you focus on Him
Once you cast your cares to Him, do not take it back. There will be a challenge, don’t touch it don’t take it.
God wants you to be carefree.
irresponsible? you try to do it by your puny hand. the great responsibility you can do : let it go to the hands of God almighty
Quality body is your health
How they grow : toil not, spin not and yet Solomon in his glory was not arrayed in one of these
In what way, one tiny lily better clothes? lily clothing from inside out, it is his body
You cant remove clothing from lily. It is health spring from within. Life span
God will clothe me with health. I am better than lily, because lily will be gone tomorrow. Lily is better than Solomon
What is the point putting georgeous clothes in sick body
You can confess with anxiety / trouble – not work
Rapha – healing. The root word of rapha is the raphah (relax). The first thing to do to receive healing : let go, know that it is in the Lord’s hand.
Cast your care, and understand that He cares for you. He wants you carefree : it is the life of faith
Rest is not inactivity but Spirit directed activities. What need to be known/revealed will be known/revealed.
One day at a time, manna comes everyday. There is only enough grace for one day. Don’t live tomorrow today, You can plan , but don’t plan with anxiety.
Give us today our daily bread. When the day come, the grace will be there. God want to restore everything you lost in your life
Deuteronomy 6:11 “Houses filled with all kinds of good things you did not provide, wells you did not dig, and vineyards and olive groves you did not plant—then when you eat and are satisfied,”
Obtain good things : by rest, and not by efforts
It is more to give than to receive – horizontally. Vertically – the other way around
Jesus always rebukes “o you of little faith” – not little prayer, littel bible reading
Love : hand that gives, faith : hand that takes
Go into peace : remain whole
