Isaiah 43:25-26
“I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake;
And I will not remember your sins. Put Me in remembrance; Let us contend together;
State your case, that you may be acquitted.
- It means remind Me that I am God who forgives!
- Why does God want us to remind him? Does God have memory problem?
We need to be reminded because we are forgetful, but God does not. - Genesis 18:20-21
And the Lord said, “Because the outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grave, I will go down now and see whether they have done altogether according to the outcry against it that has come to Me; and if not, I will know. - Three attributes of God : omnipresence (God is everywhere), omniscience (all knowing), omnipotent (all powerful).
- He is all knowing but He chooses to limit Himself in order that His people to be able to interact and communicate with Him
- God wants us to remind him because He loves His people to communicate with Him. It is for His joy, delight and pleasure
- Illustration : photo album of your baby. It is for your joy and delight. Why do I go through the same pictures again? it is for my joy, pleasure and delight
- Worship : reminding God who He is.
- God is in wisdom, limit Himself, to bring forth the case to put Him in remembrance. Even you can argue with Him or plea to Him like Abraham did. Abraham has influence with God
- God does not move in the affairs of planet earth until someone him asking Him to – Wesley
- Prayer is necessary because of the fall
- God gave the earth to the sons of man. when Adam fell, Adam gave the control to the Satan. God is not full control of the earth but God should be in full control among His children so we can demonstrate God’s blessings
- Perfect : beautiful in its season
- God limit Himself in purpose so you can interact with Him. God loves memorial, to be reminded, re-enactment. We are created in God’s image so we celebrate birthday and anniversary. it is for the joy and the delight.
- God has 7 feasts for memorial among His people, Israel. Memorial for God: God does something wonderful for His people.
- Typology of Jesus from Noah’s ark: the ark is more powerful than your fall. The date Noah’s ark rested is the date of Jesus resurrection. Ararat : curse is reverse
- Gen 9:13 I will remember my covenant. Rainbow is to remind God
- God loves to put in remembrance what the Son did.
- Three types of sin : commission, omission and association. Association can defile you
- Jesus came to heal leper, woman with the issue of blood, and resurrected the dead. Jesus is the solution.
- Memorial : mental recall (western mind), to re-enact (hebrew mind)
- ex 12:14 keep it as a feast to the Lord. God feasts on what you are reminded
- Memorial is for God and for the people
- Lev 23:24 – trumpet is the shadom, speaking is the substance
- Passover : as a memorial, Holy communion : as a remembernace (as a memorial) of Me
- When you look at bday card : written or printed words. Written words represent : heart
- Remind God, for his joy and pleasure, that your trust him. Tell God how you appreciate the gift of Jesus.
