Typology of Jesus from the grain offering. Levi 2:1 “When anyone offers a grain offering to the Lord, his offering shall be of fine flour. And he shall pour oil on it, and put frankincense on it.”
- Fine flour
- It is very smooth and nothing is uneven. There is nothing uneven in Jesus’ characters. When He is kind, He is not soft. When He is firm, He does not hurt. When He is humble, serving and washing feet, there is still princeliness in Him.
- He is strong not hurtful, humble not weak.
- Majesty meekness, diety and manhood in one, lion lamb, king servant, conviction without intolerance, enthusiasm without fanatism
- Jesus is the king of kingliness, the lord of loveliness, the prince of princeliness
- Pour oil on it
- His earthly life was anointed by HS. Every word and action was prompted and led by the Spirit.
- Put frankincense on it
- Jesus’ every word, thought and deed go up as sweet smelling perfume to God.
