The Vine and The Branches – My Bible Study Journal

The upper room discourse is for the church, the sermon of the mount is for the Kingdom which is suspended.
The Gospel of John recorded 7 miracles which called SIGN(S)
Psalm 80:8 God brought vine out of Egypt. Vine referred to Israel.
We are the branches of the true vine, not the branches. The vine and branches are one. The vine tree does not have trunk but made of clinging branches. You are not the supplier and produces, your part is to bear and manifest the fruits. The life, fatness and riches come from the vine. The same that flow in the vine flow in the branches.
Abide : all you need to do is to abide. Abide is not a place you are trying to get at, you are already there. Who is responsible for fruits : vine.
True attitude of branches are carefree and restful, to remain in the vine.
The only criteria is MENO meaning ABIDE
If you ask a branch, how do you bear such lushes fruits? We just remain as branches
1 Cor says “of Him you are in Christ Jesus.” It is God’s doing not you.
Allow yourself as branch, to rest and to abide.
If it is time to bear fruits, trust the vine to supply the bud, leaves and the fruits. If there is no rain, trust the vine to bring moisture to the branches. When harvest time come, it is not your concern what kind of fruits you will bear. As long as abide the responsibility is on the vine
If you face with stressful situation, ask the vine : Lord, Your peace. Peace being supplied at that moment. Decision making situation : Lord, Your wisdom. Tired : Lord, Your strength.
Your restfulness is the greatest testimony than the words you speak. Restful christian is a wonderful testimony
Let us labor to enter the rest. The more you rest, the more supply flows. Restfulness, more restfulness and deep restfulness.
You are like burning bush, you are burning but not burning out
If you are trying to produce the fruits, you will be struggling.
Let the life, the zap and the richness of vine flow. Dont resist
The New Covenant reality is for you to rest in the power of the HS who gives you willingness and performance of His good pleasures.
God gives you both the desires to do what He wants you to do and the performance. It is God who works in you, you work it out
You work out your salvation not work for
Grace is higher than laws. If you seek justification by laws, you fall from grace. Before someone fall into sin, they fall from grace. You are cut off from what all Christ can be to you.
Sinners could receive from Him but Pharises (self righteous) could not. Jesus was no effect for Pharises.
You can do nothing apart from Christ. World is full with people who can accomplish many things without Christ but what does it avail at the end? It comes to nothing. Only what is done for Christ will last forever.
It means: you can no nothing of value, substance of eternal consequences , eternal quality in this life and in the life after
When you pray, read bible, go to church, you feel you do something righteous. That’s laws mentality
Kiss your child, when you do your work , you whole life is righteous. That’s grace mentality
If a tree good, whatever comes from that tree is good. Everything you do is permeated by the life of Christ
Prayer is a realization of what you already are. Believe you are connected with the living vine. I am the vine and you are the branches. Lord I thank you the same life, wisdom, strength, health that flow in You flow in me.
You may not feel it. Illustration : you were in a boat and when you are in the ground you still feel shaking. The reality is you are standing on a solid ground.
God wants you in the realm of faith not feeling.
If you preach from yourself, it wont benefit hearers.
Rest and let the supply flow when you expose challenges. Do you think yourself as the responsible? You will struggle
When you aboard the plane, you can not help flying the plane. All you need to do is rest
Abide is not working.
Trust His words. He can not fail, He can not lie. With God ALL things are possible
John 15:2 He takes away (AIRO – lifts up). Jesus always lift up, always restoring. Sermon should lift you up.
Fruits, more fruits and much fruits (you can count no more). Be patient to yourself. It takes three years for vine to produce grapes. The root system is going down deep, the branches is going out wide and strong. they are in the position to hold the grapes when they come, to supply the water and the nourishment. If it is from God, it will bear fruits.
Wine is getting better through the years. The longer it is , the better it is
As they went, the leper got healed based on what Jesus said. The way of the Lord
Use medicine and depend on God. Don’t depend on medicine as you depend on God
As He is so we are in this world
